How you finding the 24-70 on the A7rII?

Also weird seeing no water in front of the temple in this shot. Whats going on there? When I was there there were loads of coy fish in there

It's a good, but not exceptional walk around lens (used it on the a7ii tho, not the a7rii). IMO it is sharp enough, just lacks something to standout of the pack. I was on vacation with my elderly parents so want to pack light, and the 24-70mm provide that convenience.

The Koi pond was being drained when we visited for maintenance.

Your Hawaii shots bring back a lot of memories...thanks for sharing those. Was "The Kiss" taken in San Diego next to the USS Midway Museum or is there another statue like that?

This one is actually at the USS Missouri Memorial, at Historic Ford Island, Hawaii.

Interesting, I never knew there were two statues like that. I was stationed at Pearl Harbor from 1964 to 1966 and a lot has changed since then...including me.

Awesome shots Charlie. Im think about getting one, even after the a7rii craze. I feel thats just too many megapixels. Does the IBIS work with the adaptors and non sony lenses ?

yes, just set the focal length for IBIS, and presto, stabilized. I usually shoot 1/125 for events, and I get sharp shots all day with that shutter speed and 200mm lens, so by my standards, ~3 or more stops with that particular lens.

I recently moved from a 6D to the A7II, and I'm damn impressed. My main reason was to go lighter, but this camera has far exceeded my expectations.
