Is this still an active thing that we can give stuff away on for Xmas? Seeing as new things came into some of our laps, there may be old things we want to give away for xmas? I'd have to take a look but there should be one or two things :)

this is a thread for giveaway thread. instruction says that you have to post for giveaway first then you can ask. i did gave somethings. does not matter whether they are cheap or expensive. and i asked few time. first come first serve... it happened few times. i got also the 20-35mm canon lens and i love it, actually i used it during our christmas celebration in our church. there is a saying " ONE'S JUNK IS ANOTHER'S TREASURES", so people who is whinning right now, may GOD BLESS u.

FYI, i am new to photography, so i dont have much of things to giveaway. i am trying to collect photography equipment that i think i can use. next time if i think i dont need it, i will post them to giveaway thread. i dont have plans to sell them out, esp the lens i got. many thanks to those giver. and be thankful to those receiver, be blessed to those who are looking.

i have seen someone asking for bits before donating which surprised me (or not) but i think it would be good to see a PIF thread. good to see the rules not to ask for things. have a look through the thread and see what is available and to offer before you get.

It is one of those things that will be hard to police and may be shunned again but perhaps worth a try?

You and I have had this debate a couple of times. It's not that we're looking for people to beg for things. The idea for me is to pay forward things to people who wouldn't otherwise have them. It's not to give stuff to Warren Buffet or to greedy people who just want to make a buck - we could sell the stuff ourselves and keep the money. This is an expensive hobby and to improve someone's experience is pretty cool. To be taken advantage of sucks.

Fair enough. Very honorable intentions, and I wish you nothing but the best of luck with it.

What do you need?

I don't think we're allowed to ask for things but I was hoping for anything film related. I'm gonna try and get a community darkroom going for all the people in my area looking to get into film. Thankfully I received a developing tank and darkbag for Christmas so that was a great start!

Same here - I've already mentally set aside a couple possibilities for next year! :)

I don't have any developing gear, but how about a camera? I have a yashica 35mm SLR body I'd separate with.

Why wait a whole year? Why not give stuff away NOW?
