Some fading light (late day) Hummingbirds...focus a little difficult, to say the least, when shooting through branches. Still using 7D MKII, center focus point .

Practice hand holding this morning under total overcast skies. These are from 25-30 feet away and cropped. 1/400, @600mm, iso 1250.

both look fine to me paul ,if you had stopped down to f8 you might have ggot a touch more eye detail in the second one ,but that would have meant upping the iso

Thanks. yah i wanted to work wide open to really see where the lens was focusing. For ME, hand holding at 1/400 is quite an achievement. haha

couple of my hand held ones from a quick hour out in the evening ,when the sun decided to shine .
also acquired a black rapid shoulder harness to take some of the weight when on walkabout ,going to be a extremely useful bit of kit and save on aching arms ,leaving them ready for action when it occurs

and a couple of practise flight shots ,needed to be certain everything was spot on focus wise as i have a couple of weeks vacation coming up right beside a massive u.k sea bird colony .re-adjusted the focus range for b.i.f shots and also re-set the M/A on the 70d distance area back to 0 working better imho.
ALL FOUR SHOTS POSTED TODAY ARE HAND HELD BTW
