Hi fellas - Really enjoy seeing everyone's work. I picked up this lens two weeks ago. Couldn't be happier. The weather is finally getting nicer in Eastern Wisconsin. Shooting with a Canon 50d body. Lens is built like a tank.

couple from this morning .been trying to get these siskin all winter and they finally show up on the feeding station outside my living room window ,hence taken through double glazed windows

I have been watching a pair of Ospreys just starting to nest. Closest land based viewing is around 350 metres away.
I'm trying lots of combinations of body/lens/TC.
This morning with 1D4 / Sig 150-600 S / Sigma 2xTC APO EX DG

Sony a6300 + Sigma MC-11 + 120-300 2.8 & 150-600 @ Melbourne Zoo.. small review..

Hot off the presses. I don't think there's too many of these combos around at the moment so figured I'd take it to the zoo and give it a work over.

The Sigma 150-600 5.6 - 6.3 sports has issues. It works but anything over about 450mm, it hunts. Almost to the point of being unusable. And I'm not that convinced it's actually sharp. But, it is very early days so I'm sure Sigma will improve the algorithms to get it working correctly. Plus @ 6.3, you need a lot of light.

As for the a6300, it takes some really nice images. But, having been a 5D Mk3 user, it is frustrating dealing with the .. I wouldn't say crap .. but when you get used to usable high ISO images, and then having to come back down to the crop sensor, anything over 1600 iso is grainy.

But, for tiny camera, it's pretty impressive. 445 AF points, 1.5x crop (so my 120-300 is now 180-450 and the 150-600 is now 225-900mm), 11fps.. The ergonomics have a lot to be desired. I have big man hands and the tiny body and numerous buttons/dials will take a little while to get used to. I found that I accidently kept hitting the off switch accidently.

The EVF is awesome. Love it. When looking directly into sun, for whatever reason it did seem rather dull. But to have a spirit level, histogram and all the details all on the EVF is awesome.

The wifi functionality seems interesting, especially when you can send an image straight to your smartphone. Even RAWs (converted to JPGs).

Going to take it out again for another spin tomorrow at the airport for plane spotting.

couple more from the new canon 80D and the 150-600 sport .liking this combo a lot and if anything a vast improvement over my old 1D3

Windy weekend - got a few more test shots using the Manfrotto 681B monopod with tilt head... 1/1250 sec. or above is needed to guarantee tack sharp images at 600mm wide open.

couple of sea skimming shots from yesterday of a whimbrel ,a first for me as these are a uncommon birds and difficult to spot .new canon 80d and the sig.
