Got to play with the lens in the sun today & am liking it more and more. Still need some more time with it, but so far so good for sure.

The turtles are not necessarily the best shot, but I didn't notice until I looked on the computer that one is a softshell.

Thanks Keddy. With some more practice, I know I'll be able to capture some really nice shots with this lens. It is certainly a handful.

Looking forward to the day that my photos with this monster are as crisp as yours and some others that have already crested the acclimation curve. Lol....

So I figured I'd see how this lens does on the crop sensor 7DII last night. I didn't have much time, as it was a last minute thought after dinner. There is a cleared area near a local strip shopping center that has had a number of scissor tailed flycatchers grazing lately so I ran by to see if any were there.

There wasn't much activity, but I did get this fella perched on a sign. If I can master the lens on the crop body hand-held, it will be a cake walk on a full frame body.

Here are a couple more from last night. A Western Kingbird & a couple frisky Killdeer.

Maybe he played the old "My wing is broken" trick and the other one was giving him a ride home...

This lens still continues to impress me. This is about a 60% crop of a shot taken at 600mm. Pretty damn sharp.

That's a cool shot Bob. Looks like his GoPro may have got you while you photographed him. Is that at the Glen? My wife & I got to got to a couple races there ten or 15 years ago. One was a Cup race and as an oval guy, this was my first experience at a road course. It was GREAT! The racing, the area, the locals... we had a wonderful time. I'd love to go back some day.

I figured I'd try a TC on the new Sig last night. As has been mentioned, the Canon 1.4x VIII will not work. It threw an error to the camera & ended up having to pull the battery to get it cleared. Fortunately, I did have an older VII 1.4x TC that seemed to work fine. It was a little late when I got out to play. I must say that it may be a bit much to hand hold for any extended period of time. I was pleasantly surprised at the results. While not great, they were hand held with serious back lighting... I think this combo will certainly be usable - certainly with a tripod (or even monopod).

This was IMSA testing at the Glen. Everyone is testing the new 12 million dollar track surface and it is extremely fast. If you want to come back, this is the year - for the first time in a long time Indy cars will be running on Labor Day weekend. They are testing on June 20th and I will post some photos.

couple more from me ,just had a 5 day break to the south coast of the u.k .,the light quality down there (300 miles south ) is totally different to up here on the north west coast and it shows ,heres a couple of late evening shots ,with the 80d that i,m loving more and more with this lens ,nothing seems to faze it .as is usual all shots hand held unless stated .
