Best decision ever to get this lens.

Managed to crack the plastic distance scale window and I have no idea how.

Not too worried, can't see me selling the lens.

Here are male & female Indigo Buntings taken at the Hagerman Wildlife Preserve, near the TX / OK border last weekend. These were hand held, out the car window.

While not quite as nice as the Black Fox contributions, butterflies nonetheless. These were also hand held, out the car window.

I sold the 70D I had this lens pretty much permanently mounted to a few weeks ago, and it's been in the case since. I finally got motivated to pull it back out on a 5D3

Encountered my first dilemma with this amazing piece of glass - lost the inside portion of the set screw that holds the lens hood in place. Have contacted Sigma Canada - waiting to hear what a solution might be. Assuming/hoping it's covered under warranty. Looking up the contact info for Sigma, it appears this is not an isolated issue, and has happened to a number of users. One solution prior to losing the screw, is to remove it, insert some "Loctite" and re-insert to prevent losing it. Wish I had known that earlier :)

Not quite sure what you lost. I checked my copy and the set screw for the lens hood cannot be taken of the hood and only partially retracts when loosening it.
Or did I lose something already without noticing?
