Just thought i'd offer up my .02 on my initial impressions of this printer. I received it as part of the 6D bundle through B&H. It came with 50 sheets of the Canon 13"x19" Pro-Lustre paper. My first impression of the printer itself was where the heck i'm going to put such a monster. It is 27" wide and weights close to 45 pounds!

Pros: (so far)
- physical setup was easy (usb method)
- 1st print came out insanely good straight out of the box (though I did use softproofing in Lightroom)
- contrary to many reviews, the print speed wasn't horrendously slow. About 7 minutes for a 13"x19" image set to fine/high
- All the ICCs loaded like they should

Cons: (so far)
- The amount of software that comes with this is a bit ridiculous; there are too many "mini" programs that I still have no idea what they do
- Doesn't seem to have ONE pdf format instruction manual that can answer simple questions
- After setting up the printer with a simple USB, I wanted to see how the wireless functionality worked; no simple way to switch methods; had to reinsert the setup CD and go through the setup process again.

Conclusion: (so far)
- Love the image quality
- Not sure i'd have paid full fare for it had it not been essentially free with the bundle

**Attached is a copy of the image I made my first large print with. A 13"x19" that my wife wants to frame and hang somewhere.**

Nice looking print, Dan. I'm still debating on whether to hold on to and use the printer that I got or trying to sell it locally on CL or the local "for sale" magazines. No rush right now, got other "must do" things right now. Looking forward, though, it's good to hear that you're pleased with the printing experience (other than TMI to digest) and prints. Thanks for the report.

Nice print and mini review.

I purchased one last year on Black Friday that was essentially just the cost of shipping after the rebate.

I find the print quality to be very good, however, I have only used Canon Luster paper. Prints reasonably quick in standard mode. Color is quite close to what I see onscreen. When printing full bleed from LightRoom, I notice that I lose a very small amount of the photo on the edges. This is only an issue when you have something very close to an edge in the frame. It does tend to go through ink fairly fast.

Enjoy it!

Thanks guys! :-)

As I normally don't print regularly (daily/weekly), it will be interesting to see how the printer fares in terms of clogs and ink drying up. I'm also eager to see how it will print onto CDs. I'll try to do a follow-up when I do some more playing around with this monster.
