My parents are insisting on buying me something this christmas and the only thing I can think that I feel I really NEED is a new bag. My old one does not rest comfortably on my shoulders and it's built to handle the average parent with an xsi and a lens-or-two for family memories.

I'm looking for something compact (not huge, bulky, or on wheels) that I can walk with at least semi-comfortably on my shoulders. This bag must obviously be able to handle my gear and stand a little bit of stress.

Gear:
-7D classic
-70-200 2.8L
-300 2.8L
-collapsible monopod
***I'm also looking to get a second body here shortly which will either be a 7d ii or a 1d iv.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

I really like my Domke F-1X... but it's a little pricey. I also purchased a 720-230 insert and the U.S. Post Office shoulder pad.

I doubt that would have the space for his gear. Guragear bataflae? The smaller one of the two.

Shoulder bag or backpack? It's wanting to carry the 300 f/2.8 and the 70-200 both together that's going to make your quest tough. My 300 goes in a Domke F-612, which will accept it with attached body in the main compartment. The front pocket holds 1.4x and 2x TCs and a set of extension tubes for closer focusing. There are Velcro bands on the strap to secure a monopod, too. Brief write-up here.

It's always hard to say what will work best for some one other than yourself. However I can say I now have two Think Tanks one for my camera and one for my lap top and I am extremely impressed with the product and customer service. I suggest you look here http://www.thinktankphoto.com/ (external link) and decide what may work best for you.

Sorry about my recommendation of the Domke F-1X. I forget that my 70-300L is so compact I can store it upright and keep the 400 attached to my 7D 2. Nellyle is correct: the F-1X will be too small to accommodate both.

I'm another Think Tank fan. I believe the Retrospective 20 shoulder bag will work with those lenses ( even attached to body) but you might want to double check. I have several bags and backpacks but my Retrospective 10 gets used 90% of the time. Great bag.
