Off camera flash for a noob

So I have a 6D and a 580 EX II. I would like to do an off camera flash. What all do I need and what are the best options? Was also thinking I might pick up a 430 EX II. This one has the wireless trigger built in right?

yup, that old thread seems to have all the answers you need.

There are many many options available, what I chose (and it works well for me) is the Yongnuo YN-622C transceiver. You'll need one for the camera and one for each flash. The only downside (and it's not a big deal for me) is that you have to go into the menu on your camera to make changes to flash settings (power, flash zoom, etc.). Yongnuo now has a 622-TX available which takes the place of the unit that goes on your camera, and all flash menu settings can be changed from that without the need for going into your camera menu.
