Too busy to devote enough time to photography, I'm selling my carefully assembled kit of professional-grade gear. Everything (except the Lowepro pack) is single-owner and well cared for, many items only used a couple of times.

Everything is priced to sell at asking price but I will consider competitive offers. Buy more than one item and I'll heavily discount additional items.

For Sale:

Current Street Price: $959
Asking: $662 Sold to a new friend who's getting into birding

7D includes battery, charger, strap, software. Lenses all have original boxes, cases, manuals. I also have optional padded cases, lens hoods, macro tubes, wrist strap, remote shutter release, intervalometer, flash modifier, rocket blaster, lens pens, etc. that I'll include with the kit.

Buy two items, get 10% off of asking price. Buy three or more items, get 20% off. Buy the entire kit, get 25% off. The total value for the whole kit is $6,621 retail, about $5,446 street value (best current prices), and I'm asking $3,946 total.

The best prices will go to buyers who are simplest to deal with. For a single sale of the whole kit, I'll sell at a huge discount. The total value for the whole kit is $6,621 retail, about $5,446 street value (best current prices), and I'm asking $3,946 total. For a single decisive cash seller who wants the whole kit, I'll sell everything above for $2,982.

Thanks Lugnut,

I was debating how to go about selling this equipment, and I have a lot of confidence in the new forum's policy of only allowing long-time members to view classified ads. If I don't sell here quickly, I'm going to put everything on Amazon and/or eBay and try to get more money out of the total deal.

Any advice on selling/pricing is welcomed!

Reluctantly. I was hoping to sell the tripod/head along with the Sigma 150/500. (Please excuse the quick snapshot.)

THIS IS A LOW QUALITY PREVIEW. Please log in to see the good quality stuff.

Edit: It's a good thing I took a glance at the box. The tripod is actually the C-358 M8, similar to this one: eBay listing for C-358 M8, 7 sold at $450 without ballhead. (external link) Specs are Height Range 14.8-73.6", Four Section Legs, Weight is 4.4 lb, capable of loads up to 39.6 lbs.

If someone had immediately committed to buying it I would have honored the original asking price. But, since it's still unspoken for, I'm going to raise the price to $450. However, I'm still committed to selling the entire kit at $2,982, even though the value of the package apparently just went up by at least $265. At least I didn't wake Tucker up for nothing!

$641 asking price on the 17-55mm...

Hi Dave, I figured out the asking prices on a spreadsheet - thus the ridiculous level of precision. On eBay, the 17-55 seems to typically sell for about $610 with those in very good condition getting around $675. So, I'd sell for a price that nets me about $620 (either cash or to a reputable buyer).

I haven't been getting the responses I had hoped for, so I'll probably just put everything on eBay and let the market decide what they're worth.

Haha, in my dreams! However, my favorite site for recipes is Cooking for Engineers (external link) where they somehow accommodate my obsession with linear thinking.

Did you end up going to ebay? Is the 17-55 still available?

"My goal is to set reasonable asking prices. If you think I've misjudged a price, please let me know why and, if appropriate, I'll adjust my asking prices. Thanks."

The 17-55 is still available. I found the box and it's white, indicating that I bought that lens directly from Canon as a refurbished lens (although it was pretty obviously a new lens when I received it.) Make me a reasonable offer and it's yours.

There have recently been some eBay sales of Sigma 150-500's at lower prices. I'm now asking $550 for it.
