Hi everyone,

I was using my camera, taking photo of my daughter.

So after that when I plugged my sd card in a card reader in to my macbook I accidentally knock the usb and the sd card and I got a message of improper eject message. I plugged it again and the sd card are now empty.

Just want to ask what free sd card recovery software you guys are using in this kind of situation?

Thanks,
Christian

That's kind of odd. Over the years I've done that a number of times with no problem.

Might unplug everything and restart the computer.

If that doesn't work, maybe try putting the card in in the camera and seing if you can get the images off there. The thinking being it might be a problem with the reader, not the card. My card reader just went belly up.

Could also be the computers' usb plug. Better hope not, or hope you have two plugs.

Don't have an answer for your question. I use Drive Geniius for regular HDs, not sure if it can work on SD cards.

I've used Lexar Image Rescue in the past with good results.

Yes Lexar Image Rescue works, I had better luck with IR4 than IR5. You can get a free trial version and it will let you fully recover up to 3 images, or it might not get anything, but nothing to loose.

I'm rather late to the thread, but check out http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/PhotoRec (external link) if you haven't already gotten stuff recovered. PhotoRec and Testdisk are awesome little utilities that have come in handy several times in the past few years. They're free open source programs, and while the UI is a little on the crude side the results have been just fine.

I'm a big fan of SanDisk RescuePRO, great program, very easy to use.
