Is this a fake? I sent it to Sandisk, but since I'm waiting I figured I asked. Sandisk's website shows the Sandisk at the top in gold. Also, the number in the U is a 1 on the item's page where I purchased and on Sandisk's site. I believe I got sent a fake. The problem is, they're the same price as the real ones on legit sites.

Newegg where I bought the card from:

I was already placing an order at Newegg and figured I purchase the card but the only place I could find them on the site was through that 3cexpert seller.

What makes you think it's a fake? Did you tried the card at all?

For one, most Sandisk cards (I don't know if it's all of them) have Sandisk stamped into the plastic of the back side of the case. Also, I have only seen this card picture for an Amazon seller. The U-3 is only on the 280mb/s cards on their sites and the U-1 is 95 mb/s which this card is listed as. Also, the Extreme Pro is outlined in gold in the picture on Sandisk's website for this card.

I came across a fake once but the symptom (as is usually the case) was that the capacity was less than advertised. If the capacity of the card is as advertised I think you might have to do a performance comparison (there are read/write speed test softwares floating around the net) or go though the difficult task of contacting the manufacturer. The physical appearance is not always a dead giveaway as this may vary depending on region, etc.

Not too sure about this. Okay not the same cards as what you have but the black one is from a retail store in retail packaging and the gold one was from Amazon with the easy open packaging. One with and one without Sandisk stamped.

I had a feeling the cards i've been getting from amazon were fake. Gold labels with no imprint on back.

I don't know. Here's 2 more from Amazon. I only purchase if they are fulfilled by Amazon as well. I think the labels are different as they must get them bulk and use their own packaging.

Sandisk confirmed they were real. What threw me off was the u3 on the front. All the UHS-I cards I could find except from one other reseller on Amazon had the 32 gb 95mb/s cards as u1. They said it's a newer card that has a minimum 30mb/s write speed.

I wish they would have updated labels and cards on their website because their Extreme Pro UHS-I 32gb that I linked shows it's only a U1. Capacity is right on both cards, but I haven't done a speed test yet. I do know that registering on their website doesn't confirm anything because it will let you register any serial number at all.

On the plus side, I shot video for about 4 hours on Saturday night and got probably about 1 1/2-2 hours of footage and still had a ton of capacity. Ran through a full battery with only using about a 1/5 of storage.

Ordered a 32gb Extreme over Christmas. It turned up, ran slowly and corrupted files. Sent back faulty but suspect now it was a fake - loads of reviewers on Amazon UK report the same (direct from Amazon) with packaging/card showing signs of being counterfeit.

Makes me wonder how many poor sods are using these knock-offs...

I've bought numerous Extreme Pro SD cards from BH, non have "Sandisk" written on the back. I have no reason to believe any trickery for mine. Buy from a legit source and have peace of mind.

I usually do, but I already had an order in at the time and figured I'd go ahead and snag some cards.
