Hey everyone

I have these two memory cards (sandisk Ultra SDHC and Micro SDXC, 8GB and 16 GB respectively)
Both of them suddenly aren't readable. I cant read them when I try to read it through built in SD card readers, external USB readers, PC, MAC, anything! My mac can't see the cards at all, the PC tells me it needs to be formatted, but when I click ok it does not format.
I even put them into my 60D and tried to format that way but it still doesnt format.
I've tried various recovery softwares (both mac and PC again) nothing is working. At this point, even if I manage to format the cards and lose the data so I can use them again is OK.
Has anyone else encountered this problem? It is just strange that it would happen to both those cards...

Just had that exact problem with a Lexar 1066x CF card. It's basically dead. Neither the camera nor my PC recognize that there is even a card inserted.

Yeah mine are basically dead too.

WHEN windows can see it and asks to reformat, it can only see 32MB out of the 16GB card and won't let me reformat. It is really annoying as I just lost two cards like this...

Lexar gave me no hassles and issued an RMA for an exchange. So far, so good.

I wonder if I can get SanDisk to do the same. the cards are fairly old (>5 months or so). I'll give it a shot

If they are legit sandisk cards (theres a lot of fakes out there, you will need to take photos of the card so they can verify its authenticity) then they will replace it

Just to update, Lexar sent me a working CF card. They didn't explain anything about the one I sent them and it's hard to tell if the one they sent back is new or refurbed, but I suspect it is refurbed. That's fine with me. It works, so that's all that matters.
