Tawny eagle, Kruger Park, South Africa. Was a very cloudy day so overexposed by 3 stops.

QUOTED IMAGE

Wow! This looks surreal. Almost like a painting (not saying that's a bad thing). This is just a personal preference but the subject looks like 1/3-1/2 stop underexposed to me. Obviously this preserves the details on the white feathers but it's missing an extra "pop".

I love the composition, the layers. Superb!

Thanks Julian, that's an interesting observation. I find it hard to expose for birds that are, both black and white, on a good day. This was a strange day... it was bright sunshine/blue sky, but these fog banks would roll in off the Atlantic. It made this really weird "muted" bright light.
Here is another shot from the same day, where the fog wasn't present, and a also a landscape shot where you can see one of those fog banks coming in...

Yes, just outside Bonavista. There are some amazing trails to hike there ! We were there in July and spent hours on those trails.... saw one other couple the whole time ! Couldn't believe how uncrowded it was

Very nice shot of the motorcycle. Colors and sharpness are great!

I Just picked up this lens to use with my 1Dx Mark II for shooting college baseball this spring.

This is the "Eagle Tree" near Edison, WA. Each year in January, eagles gather for a couple of weeks while the steelhead fish are running upstream. The eagles are very active in the morning. The tree is on private property, so these shots were taken from the side of the road.
