This is quite a versatile lens and quite sharp indeed.

This one hand held using a knee to stabilize a little. After holding the camera w/ lens attached on a longer hike in the woods it got a bit heavy.

Picked up a used copy this week, plan is to replace my Sigma 150-600 C. Of course we get 3 days of gloomy weather. I managed to go out and try it out this afternoon, nothing interesting going on so I grabbed this goose just to test the sharpness, IS and ease of hand holding. It's definitely much easier to hand hold, the Sigma was a bit heavy, especially when trying to track.

400MM. 1/250, blah light, hand held. I'm happy with the sharpness even with the heavy crop. I'm pretty confident that I'll be able to make up for the 200mm loss with the ability to crop a bit. Besides, after going through my gallery I realized everything worth "keeping" was in the 400 range anyways. Especially the BIFs. I'll pick up a 1.4x and sell my Sigma.

Pretty sure it was dead already. He was originally in a grassy area where the catch occurred.... I tried closing in, then he flew to the tree...

Didn't' really get a good shot of the actual kill, but the post kill photos...
