The Snohomish County Search and Rescue team recently did a demonstration of their capabilities at Skagit County Airport. It was in conjunction with a small airshow being presented by Heritage Flight Museum. The detail and precision with which the team worked was awesome. If I ever need a mountain rescue, I'd like these folks to come and get me!

The team arriving:

Most of the crew. The search and rescue team totals about 30 members. Only a couple of those members are paid positions. All the others are volunteers. The woman is the pilot.

Lowering one of the rescuers to the ground.

The "victim" has been stabilized and is ready to be hoisted aboard.

The rescue is nearly complete.

Image editing ok; C&C always welcome.

Thank you. I asked a chap who looked like an official, if it was possible to stand a bit nearer to the action, next thing I knew I was presented with a Hi-viz jacket that had 'Photographer' stamped all over the back of it and dragged out into the middle of the field/track :D

It wasn't even where I wanted to go, but I didn't want to upset the nice chap (or seem ungrateful) who had gone out of his way to help me :D

Call me Amanda please :)
