Very nice photos of the RV7. I plan to build one in the next couple of years.

For the first time in weeks we had some sun today. I headed into the wood with the 100-400 and 1.4x TC all set up for birds. I didn't see one bird but did catch the light shining through the bark on this tree. I rather like the bokeh with the TC.

They have strangely 'out-of-focus' feathers!

These are small, but the ones out there are far away.

I had a nice treat yesterday. It's not flight season yet in the Pacific Northwest. But my wife and I decided to walk on some trails near the Skagit County airport. It's the home of Heritage Flight Museum, and they were actually flying two of their planes! It was my first opportunity to take airplane photos with the 7D2 + 100-400 II. The combination worked really well. I was panning at 1/160th to get prop blur.

Here are a couple of shots of Maple Tree buds. These were both taken at 400mm at the min focus distance of the lens (about 40"). Both were cropped a little for composition.

Liking those at 1/160th, looks like a safe starting point for the Australian Air Show next weekend though I am sure I will venture lower.

All I know is that my copy of the lens will be getting a severe workout the two days I shall be there.
