Wonderful lens - bought it last Tuesday and put it to use at the weekend at the Australian air show at Avalon. Here are 2 from the Friday night session...

We must have been in similar spots along the fence line; I have a couple just like that!!

Great lens isnt it.

More from Avalon; loving the panning mode IS and the prop blur that I just could not get with my Tamron 150-600.

Yeah, I think there are a whole bunch of us with very, very similar photos!

As for the lens, it is excellent. I think it is actually sharper than my 70-200 ii. Now I just need my skill to catch up to my gear.

Just some shoots today, some really shy birds and I have to used both x2 and x1.4. The IQ looks OK so far (1:1 shoots):

Wow, very impressive with the double extenders. BTW all your images are great - love those Australian birds, so colourful.

Dull grey and a little rainy here, doesn't sound like the UK at all I know so I thought I would nip out to the garden to see if there were any bugs about, First time shooting macro-like with this lens.

Bug unknown, first image uncropped for size reference, second cropped to within an inch of its life.

Can't wait till summer now.

Hi all some great shots on here
This lens is looking very interesting
I have a question has anybody upgraded from a sigma 150-500 to this lens and was it worth it ( for mostly bird shots )
thanks Colin
