I am still waiting for the weather to clear to try out the 100-400ii with the 1.4x in bright light and some less than ISO 1600, I am sure it will be a lot sharper with more light and lower ISO.

The first two were taken after work the day the extender arrived and the light was fading fast.

First up 'The odd couple'

And back to his perch in a humpf

And these three 'regulars' were playing in the garden this afternoon so at least I got some more practice in.

I had forgotten how shallow the depth of field is at shorter distances at these focal lengths, even at F8 and F9.

Hopefully tomorrow brings us some sunshine.

A coupla bodies and a few lenses

We had the Avalon Airshow this past weekend and I have to say the lens performed a treat.

I managed to work around the less than ideal lighting the mostly cloudy weather provided, and here are just four of many.

Those birds are so colorful, they don't seem real.

I'd like to see a version with the contrast bumped a bit, but I love the shot! I'm liking this lens!

Thanks Nomad, as requested I've added one below with a bump in contrast, hope you like it.
