I am no fan of spiders, they give me the heebie-jeebies. So I wasn't out looking for them at all, but this one was hanging there and at 400mm this fabulous lens enabled me to stand a nice distance away. As others have noted, it can be almost like having a (really long) macro lens. I absolutely love it.
