If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

A little astronomy for a change. Both photos used a 7D2 and the 1.4x III and were handheld.

Mercury transit. Mercury is the little black dot near the right edge of the sun at the 3:30 position. I used the Lee Big Stopper (10x ND filter) for this.

Mars at its closest. I manually focused to get Mars visible, but then I let the camera auto-focus. It locked on immediately. Pretty amazing for such a small object! This photo is a very heavy crop (about 15% of the original photo).
