Recently picked up one of these lenses and so far, have been impressed with the AF and sharpness.. First real go of it today at a public display of the Australian Airforce RAAF Roulettes.

Hmmm, 1DIV and 100-400mk II..... Where have I seen that combo before???

Would have been there today too if my throat wasn't feeling like 80 grit sandpaper...looks like the weather gods played nice too.

Hahaha.. I took a leaf out of your book Graham.. No, I actually bought the 100-400 for the Sony but it doesn't play nicely on it. So went with the old faithful of the 1D4..

The weather was ok.. not great.. it was nice and sunny up to about 30 seconds before they flew past, then clouds came over... so there were patches of sun and shade.. and I thought a polariser would help but became a nuisance about 20 photos in.. lesson learnt..

But yeah, was a good day.. The roulettes presented me with a framed and signed print of their poster.. felt really embarrassed.. wasn't expecting that at all.. haha
