I have a 1 year old Canon 60D and running it with a SCHC 16GB 700x 120MB/s card. I keep getting the message (Movie recording has been stopped automatically) when trying to record a video. It used to work and now it doesn't any ideas? I'm running fireware 1.1.1 Thanks for any feedback.

Mike

Depends on the card. I've had class10 cards that stop recording after 30 seconds despite the 60d only needing a class 6 card. I started using Sandisk Extreme cards and no problems after that. Not all cards are created equal or meet their specs for longer than a short burst.

come to find out it's not my card. I have a 16GB 700X 120m/s and it works just fine in my Canon T2i. Won't work in my Canon 60D. In the 60D I can record for about 4 seconds then it over buffers. Any ideas why this might be happening.

Have you tried doing an in camera low level format using the 60D. I would not think it an issue since your tests involve two Canon cameras but easy to do. With different makes of camera, where the card was formatted can be an issue.

Is that card a Digital Speed Memory 16GB 700X Professional High Speed 120MB/s card? If so and you paid the going price of $300 I'd return it. Just not worth that amount of money. A top end Sandisk would have been $40 or less.
