Asteroid I Think

I was taking a star time lapse 12/13/14 with a 50mm f1.8 on a T2i hoping to catch a few meteors also.

I was using around 5 seconds of open shutter and 15 second intervals and ended up with 221 frames. I did catch some streaks with jets, satellites and meteors from the shower this weekend.

I have what appears to be an asteroid traveling through the end result starting in top center moving through the stars at an angle to the left while the stars move to the right, then it curves in a U shape back to the right.

Is it common for an asteroid to appear to be curving in a two hour set?

I have tried to put it on you tube but it came out as mush. I'll try again.

I've been looking at the sky for awhile and never seen anything not go in a straight line. UFO? LOL not thinking that, thought it might be just some kind or result from a long period with the time lapse.

I'll try to get a better upload.

If you can see it, it starts at the top almost center above the highest part of the tree, heading down and left then curves back right as it goes into the tree top.

It was set to public,, even Monetized it now so it should let people see. I know they want to play those ads. LOL

it was the little dot coming in from top center.

I used an older T2I to take the pics, Then loaded them into Light Room 4. Slid some sliders to try and make it stand out a bit more.
And used LR4 to put them together as a time lapse,,,, under the slide show tab.

That plays back WAYY too fast to actually track anything as brief in relative duration as anything streaking in the sky. Can you nab a couple of frames of the object you're curious about and post those stills?

LOL its right in the middle, not a streak of light. Don't look for a streak, its a pencil point dot that moves from the top to the bottom.

I have the most crappy monitor there is and I can see it in this second upload.

I looked at the raw files and its very hard to find if it's not moving, looks like one of the dim stars.

I know its there, LOL

Definitely not any sort of celestial body. Your total elapsed time is something like 60+ minutes, which doesn't match the motion of anything beyond Earth's orbit. Maybe a satellite.

I see what you are talking about, so you are not crazy :p
My guess is that it is a satellite or possibly space junk. It is hard to tell because it is a timelapse video, but appears to be flickering, which is common for satellites as they spin.

For the people not seeing it. It originates a bit left of top center and moves downward.

I see it, but I can't think of what would remain in the frame over the course of 2 hours. Wouldn't satellites, meteors, etc be long gone? It looks like it's moving across the sky at the same speed as everything else, just in a different direction...
