Well I've bored you with lorikeets so I might as well bore you with Galahs:lol: They're visiting am and pm now and there's quite a scrap at times between them and the aggressive lorikeets, despite the lorikeet's size. I really wish I'd been on the ball for the fighting shot but I wasn't expecting it and technically it's crap. I'm posting it anyway as it tells the story.

I just got my new 100-400 II today and I have to say this is one of the best values Canon has put out in a long time. I would have gladly paid more for it. Can't wait to try it with a 1.4 TC for BIF.

I wouldn't have wanted to pay more than I did, but it's definitely a great lens. :-D

Some Canon stuff and a little bit of Yongnuo.

I used the Canon 1.4x extender, with this lens on the camera 7d-Mk-II and the AF worked with the central point of focus, someone has already done this experience? someone made the 2.0X extender?

I used it with the Canon 1.4x II. While mostly it works well on static objects, the AF slows down considerably to be useful for birds in flight, particularly small birds. I eventually gave up.

It will not AF with a 2x TC at long focal lengths.

It was not bad for bigger birds. I decided I can crop so much and I lose so many focusing options I don't use it for BIF very often. You won't get AF with a 2X at 400mm.
