Dec 02, 2015 06:13 | #2479 I mentioned in an earlier post that I had found the ability to zoom out while I located small birds to be useful. Here is an image of a Forty-spotted Pardalote which is small (9 - 10 cm / 3.1 - 3.5 inches) and fast moving. The EXIF shows I did not manage to get back to 400mm before I took the shot. I also think that this is in the wrong thread. "Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.

One observation; I am surprised at the extremely high amount of noise grain there is in this file. I thought the 7D2 was supposed to be much better than that at 800 ISO..........makes me wonder if the shot was severely underexposed, then pulled up when editing. That is exactly what I get when pull up a shot. This is 800 Image Editing OK

Philihase Member More info | Looks like what you get with the highlights slider down and the shadows slider up in Lightroom. It increases the noise a fair bit on the bird in these sort of shots. https://www.facebook.com …e-Photos-852961268075109/

It increases the noise a fair bit on the bird in these sort of shots. Just like my 7D the is a light hungry camera. I said in another post that even though the 7D2 is one stop better than the 7D it seems the 7D2 is more light hungry. Exposure is everything on a tightly packed sensor. Although it can do a good job in low light, concerts, etc and would have no issue shooting with it typically my 5D3 comes out for that. More forgiving. Image Editing OK

Thanks for sharing That was a great meal ~ you must have a good set of pans
