We saw a bunch of these flying foxes in South India a few years ago. At dusk, there were an endless stream of them heading from their roost to whichever hapless farmer was going to have his orchard decimated by them! :D

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

Thanks Jake. They ain't easy as they roost with their backs to the sun but that 1st one was the first time I'd used a speedlite on 'em and I'm rather happy with how it worked out

Seen trees full of flying foxes around Cairns. One thing you learn quickly if you want to photograph them is not to walk under the trees. :D

Yeah, it stunk in there and rather squelchy after the recent rain...............fell on my a**e twice

Nice job using the flash. It does come in handy for birding at times. Did not realize it at all!

Brought back over 12K files from Iceland/Svalbard but this afternoon got tired of landscape. Grabbed two chicken legs out of
the refrigerator and put them out back. We were gone for 24 days so I wondered if 'Harry' had forgotten us, evidently not-

Beautiful kit Pondrader !!!
Just so you know Harry also loves filet mignon and sirloin. Yesterday he enjoyed a squirrel provided by yours truly.
He doesn't care for salmon.

p.s. forgot to say don't that little fox grow up too quickly. Me, Shooz, and Poof want to see him this winter.

Thanks, you would have gotten lots of good beer like the neighbor down the road did. He
just had to be assured he would not get swooped on.
