Awesome.
As a kid growing up on a small farm, the neighboring spruce woods was home to a pair of Great Horned Owls.. I was always finding the pellets and extracting little mouse and vole skulls.

Truly a versatile lens. Another early morning from this week past:

And another from the past week. A rare rare sighting here. Even better that it was 200m from my house:

I've been pruning the flower heads on my grevillias and callistemon as soon as they peaked to prevent them seeding. This has resulted in them continuing to produce flower right into the middle of winter as it is now, in fact, they're more prolific than in spring or summer. As nothing else is flowering in my area, I'm being blessed with birds that seem oblivious to me in their quest for pollen (that's the yellow on their beak and face). I got within 3 metres of these miners an hour ago

Went up to my mothers house for the weekend. She has these Mourning Doves that hang out in her yard all day and build nests on the pillars around her house. Shot a couple of them this morning then wandered around Joshua Tree National Park for a couple of hours. Going to try to get back out there later this evening, in hopes of seeing more birds or other wildlife.

I still can't figure out why those cactus spines don't bother their feet. I spent a couple of hours in ER a few weeks ago having one removed from my knuckle!

Don't try to get closer to them, stand still and let them come to you.

I prefer to be in the bush with the animals than a crowded city.
