It is called the 200-400, weighs over twice as much costs 'bout 5 times as much, but is useless beyond 100 and 199mm :)

I'm surprised by the MFD of this lens. I was standing only around 3-4ft away from this bird. Still, this is about a 75% crop at 260mm because I really wasn't even expecting it to focus when I snapped the picture.

You were only at ISO 500, so had lots of room to increase ISO in that light with a 7D2 -- no need for f/4 there.

At the distance I was shooting with camera resting on a guard rail.. iso 500 is pushing it for any detail at all. I was surprised to see what I got. I pushed it a bit in PP and I know it looks like the sun is about to go down but it has already pasted. I shot it at 9000k so as to make it look so. I know I was taking a chance at 400 that it would introduce motion blur but sometimes ya just got to go for it lol..... and I can always use f4..its dark around here lol

Always dark, that's my story too. Dark, overcast, rainy, gloomy, foggy, snowy, icy-sound like Ontario :)

Jeff, that's an engaging photograph.....I like wildlife interaction photos. Just don't post bear/human interaction closeups. ;)

Long range big crop. He was singing his heart out thinking it was spring and looking for a mate. Middle of winter here and it's 27d!

No exif??? It's happened a few times now and always seems to be when I STTR. Any ideas why it's missing?
