Thanks Smythie. Yes, it was a toss up between the two. I like the saturation in the 2nd same as yourself, but the 3rd shows more detail which is lost when saturated..

I prefer #3.

Lens has not got much use lately. Used it on 1D4 today for some BIF.
Both heavily cropped.

We are still in the Alligator River NWR.
Most come here for bears and there are plenty of them, this one from yesterday as example-

There is a bit of landscape nearby too-

But there is a lot here if you are willing to look around, and a lot of you guys/gals know how I feel about owls :)
Not the camera or lens I'd choose but see what you think-

Choder I'm sure he was wondering why we slammed on the brakes, got out of the car, and then pointed a torch at him! We'd see him fly by, it's dark mind you, but we did see where he landed.I used the torch to help get focus, then flashed him. Maybe all that explains the grumpy look :)

I get it now. He's grumpy because you didn't bring food with you to compensate him for the intrusion.

Taken with the 100-400 mk2 @ 400 plus Canon 1.4TC.
Not bad for a zoom, non-macro lens.

I like the eyes better on the previous one. Just one man's opinion. ;)
