Crazy ice storm overnight left the trees with a surreal glaze on the branches. Spent about three hours tromping around in the copse, barely saw any bird activity. A hawk landed a distance away, but unfortunately my 100-400 + 1.4x back focused like a champ and i came away disappointed. I then proceeded to MFA the combo, and can happily report that the resultant photos are razor, razor sharp.

Only shot a few shots with the adjusted setup, but here's the results (which probably won't look good once I upload here).

My daughter and I performing at a Christmas Carols event. Big gig. 2000 people or so.

My wife took the pictures. Missed focus....Sigh.

It was so windy, I seriously thought the stage was going to blow over. The sound guys lost their roof as per pic 2.

Anyway.. that's what my ugly mug looks like.
