Man aren't the crows brilliant!
Many a year ago in my area the Cherokee indians would skin the toads, dry the skin, put it into a stone mortar and turn it into a powder
then snort it; hallucinations would result giving the 'medicineman' insight into the world :)
' bufotenin originates from the Bufo genus of toads, which includes several species of psychoactive toads'
Yep, toads are amazing in their own way.

Bufos are an invasive species here in Florida, I find them on my driveway all the time. Common for dogs to pick them up and end up at the emergency vet sick as hell. The toxin on their skin is really toxic to dogs...I never let my dog near one. None of them are as smart as crows!!!!

Super Sandy.. I still really like the Evening Grosbeak a lot.. Its still my avatar around the internet in places. I think mine have flown the coop, haven't seen one in a week. This week seems to be a slow down as everything this week has partnered up and sitting on nests. Yesterday it snowed all day.. although it didn't accumulate anything, the day before that was 20c plus and sunny most of the day. So I'm in-between groups but the summer crowed can't be far off. The Chickadee .. well he never leaves me. I'm hoping the light gets better soon

Sweet Chickadee shot Jeff! The female Red winged Blackbirds are finally joining the males, and I just spotted a Chipping Sparrow! Still no Purple Finches at all this winter, which is odd.

Thanks. I don't see those often in city park ponds.
