Lens rentals says TC's are tuned for the big primes whic led me to the zoom conclusion but I don't know enough to back that. My 7D2, 100-400 II and TC needed +13 and my 5D4 needed +9. digitalparadise Awaiting the title ferry... More info | Apr 20, 2017 18:54 | #5829 Well I decided today I'm giving up. I spent 4 months over the winter searching the my area in grids and found 1 owl. Last 2 days drove covering the eastern Manitoba and Western Ontario borders. Spent enough time, gas and money. Fascinated by owls and more exotic birds but I will take what I get even if it is just ducks and gulls. I have a local bird preserve 10 minutes from home and will focus on them and smaller birds. I will save it for travel and get whatever I can when on the road. Image Editing OK

MatthewK Cream of the Crop More info | Don't give up! Spring is just starting, and you'll get more activity. And you live in an area that is replete with wildlife... I live in the suburbs outside of Washington DC, an area that is about as soulless and paved-over as you can get outside of NYC, and I'm digging up new birds and wildlife on a regular basis. Pick a woody area (you mention a bird reserve near you, sounds perfect), and go to it every day. It takes a while to canvas an area enough to see who resides there, but it's worth it!
