These little fellers are so hard to nail focus as you can see their size in relationship to the rain drops. Not as sharp as I would have liked with all the rain/ moisture in the air and lens at full stretch

Had a great day at the lake yesterday. Besides the hummer in her nest I also got this king fisher. Is it a young female maybe? I see traces of a brown belt I think.

Seeing more kingfisher activity the past two days than all spring. Looks like she has her flight goggles on in that first image.

These little fellers are so hard to nail focus as you can see their size in relationship to the rain drops. Not as sharp as I would have liked with all the rain/ moisture in the air and lens at full stretch

Personally I think sharpness is over rated.

More often than not it is about documenting an event.

At least that is how I see it.

For example, I once shot a heron eating a rodent. Who knew that was on their menu.

It was an odd sequence of frames as we watched the bird focused on rocks in the park.

He came up with something but I was not sure what it was, he flew to the water rodent in his mouth.

Dipped the rodent in the water .... and proceeded to swallow it.

This all happened faster than it took me to write this post and was not easy to get considering how far off he was.......
