EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II USM Review WOW!

Hard to believe I'm about to write this but I think the 100-400II is better than the 70-200II. I'm playing around with both and I have to tell you I think the 100-400 is the winner - I may even bring it to my next wedding and give it a go.

Wallstreet, I think when all is said and done the 100-400ii will be one of the greatest lenses ever made; it was surely worth the seemingly decades long wait for the upped gen, beyond that it was beyond most people's expectations and the hidden gems like super close focus, almost macro performance and divine sharpness at the distal end all add up to a sum far greater than the parts. Icing on the lens cake is super fast focus and as per the lensrental/Roger breakdown 22cd century construction.
I tinker with several EOS bodies and it makes them all look good

I'm now gassing for a 7D2 to get more out of this lens. Just first need to sell a few things that have been on the hit list for a while, to ease the pain a little...

I do a specific conference twice/year with one next weekend. I'm going to give mine a try there too. That's not exactly the bird and wildlife shooting this lens was made to excel at.

Just like the Labrador Retriever ,..this lens has no idea what colour it is. I wouldn't even think twice.

I have acquired the 7D11, 100-40011 combination in the last few days, having owned the 70-200 f2.8 11 for some time. It is early days, but I have come to a similar conclusion. By way of a bit of useless information I shot the foliage of a big old eucalypt tree in our neighbour's property with the 70-200, resulting in a JPEG file of 13.8 MB which is a record for me.

On a different subject I am not too happy with Canon. The digital solutions disc for the camera will not install on my computer running Win Vista. What do they intend doing about it? Apparently nothing, as they cannot imagine why anyone would want to have such an ancient OS. The AF performance of the 7D11 is a big advance on my 550D. Must take a shot of some ducks to post here!

I must ask... why do you (and a bunch of other people) write "11" instead of "II" for mark II versions? They look similar (ish), but eleven is very different from two, and the keys are nowhere near each other on the keyboard.

and why do the Brits spell color colour ?

Sold my version 1 today and will receive the version 2 on Monday. Super excited!

And we've left out V UNO & DOS, Mk Ichi and ni, in Binary the new version would be the MK 10. Mk 11 will be the 3rd version

.... and of course if we are using Roman Numerals, it is the
EF C - CD f/IV-V.VI (we can't say "L" because that means "50" US(or "M" because that means 1000) IS Mk 2
