Lots of foxes tear up their noses hunting in ice and snow. This one is over 12 years old. Average is anywhere from 2 to 7 years I think. They constantly dive into the snow hunting for mice and such. In captivity they have lived upto 14 years I believe.

Up here in the Top End we call those St Andrew's Cross spiders. These are what we call golden orbs: yellowy web and 'knees'.
