This is a test shot with the 100-400 and my upgrade to a Canon 5d mkiv. What a difference over the 6d. Now if I could figure out how to upload the plug in to read the raw file for Elements 11 I'd be laughing but I probably end up buying another copy for the desktop.

Sometimes I get reminded of how great this lens really is. This image of an Elephant shrew was captured on top of a hill in Tuli game reserve, Botswana after the sun had already set. Without the great minimum focus distance, the amazing image stabilisation and the low light capabilities of my d5mk4 this image would not have been possible.

Did you have to remove some noise in post? Or any other editing?

I did some basic Lightroom edits and used Nik define to remove a bit of noise

That's such a sad situation, I am so angered by humans and what they do to nature. I still stand by my favorite saying, "the more people I meet the more I like my dog ". So sorry you had to go through that!

I can't find the threads about the TC and cropping. This shows what that lens and TC can do.

I've come to think it's the atmospheric intrusion , Like Bidkev and someone else suggested . I have to realize shooting over water in the winter just does not bode well! But hey, you nailed that Tern!

Cheers,
JOE

Here are a couple of shots of how tough the bison have it in winter in Yellowstone.

I cannot look through 505 pages of posts. Is anyone using this lens with a Canon teleconverter 1.4x iii or a 2x iii? If you are how is the image quality?

I personally own this lens with a Canon 1.4x III TC and am happy with the results. Many people own this combo on various bodies with great results.
