Wasn't seeing much at the lake this afternoon and noticed this dragonfly kept coming by. I hadn't tried DIF in years and thought I'd see how my custom C3 BIF settings would do at 10FPS. Not bad, around 4 to 6 ft.

Wow are these fast. This was the best I could do today and it is pretty heavily cropped.

Thanks. I am not home so can’t check but it is probable that the vignette was added in LR. I routinely do it although sometimes too much. It is habitual......

I actually use vignette function a lot myself especially for birds. I think its a great tool for these subjects because without it the rest of the image ( apart from bird) can be very overwhelming and be a major distraction due to birds relatively smaller size even when cropping heavily. My biggest problem is when the ambient light in the area where I do my PP is really bright ( I edit on on a laptop 80% of time) and if I dont adjust screen for this lighting situation my vignettes tend to look ok on screen even if they are too heavy. And worse in my case is when I do a vignette on my large monitor and it looks absolutely fine there but I dont take into acct Im going smaller, or bother to properly review the the smaller image before a posting to POTN it will invariably be a tad too heavy . And if I look at my post a few days later in POTN I invariably have to go back to Lightroom to use a bit more of feather and then repost image . Done that so many times Ive lost count :)....

Cheers

Thanks Jeff. Yeah I've been doing a few b&w shots, but just goofing around. When I was teaching photography to my middle school kids, it was all b&w in those days (early 1970's). I guess the past sneaks up on me now and then, and I have to do a few just because. :-)

lol its all good Mike. In the early 70's I was more inclined to go fishing. living on a super nice big lake was a joyful place to grow up. It started the animal and nature thing in me.
