Hey Ray... I live in the land between what I call normal canadian bush a mix of hard and soft woods evergreen's and maple tree's and what resembles more like tundra with no hard wood only rock formation and scrub like bushes to the north. The land changes dramatically in a couple hours drive north.

My Back yard is a vast wild place where most but not all of Canada's critters reside. The pond in my back yard holds many a critter, I have shot Moose, Bear, Otter, Beaver, eagles, all the water birds, and much more right here in my back yard. I'm feeling these days I want to put something together like a book on the land and critters of this place I have grown up in.

I put the +1.4III because the forum does not. and some like to know if the lens is sharp with it on.

These are just iPhone pictures I snapped. last night the sky was raining with peaces of blue sky. I really should get to taking some with a camera.

It feels it sometimes... funny thing is most of my life it was nothing special.. just bush and home.

I would miss the Granite rock the most if I ever left this place.

Thanks for the glowing description of your habitat PondRader. Very nice but how far are you from the nearest town? Do you have bears and snakes in that part of the world?
Afraid I am surrounded by ever increasing housing without the necessary improvements in infrastructure. I won’t go on or I might be banned.
But hey ho!, there are still a few open spaces around here.
Like your iPhone pics - I never thought of that.
Plan that book out with lovely pictures and either try a publisher or consult a printer and go it alone — that might get expensive though. I did it a few years back, not on your subject though.
Regards Ray

Yes to snakes and Bears. Two weeks ago a sow and her cub smashed my bird feeder three separate times. The last time was around 2:30am and the cub was crying loudly and breaking branches on trees as they left the back yard. I rebuilt the feeder and they have of course moved on to somewhere else for the moment.
Town for me is 10 minutes away, not a big town but everything one needs really.

No ... No there isn't, One must drive a good hour to get anything like that. Grocery's and a hardware store really thats the one thing that is a pain

That at least is one thing we have in common. Although I am an hour away from two Canon shops, both in opposite directions, it takes nearly an hour in traffic to get to either one, and the parking is an absolute pain.

I understand totally. I miss the Sydney sandstone I grew up on.

Still waiting for the wisdom they promised would be worth getting old for.

And a new category is born right here: MIF = Mosquito In Flight. I am 100% sure I have not pulled that one off....

Cheers.
