And 100-400 + 2X, handheld shooting at 800mm harder than I thought!

Should have bumped up the ISO a bit on the 800mm shots to freeze the action, the images are a bit fuzzy

Yeah if this is a regular subject matter and you have to use the 2x, I'd recommend ISO800-1600 and then get yourself a copy of Topaz. Very very very rarely do I recommend software as a solution, but it will take care of the grain/noise issues of those higher ISO's and $60 < $1200-$4000 for a full frame sensor setup of your choice

Cool, will check that out. I used to use NeatImage many years back when ISO400 was almost unusable.

I shot these specifically to deal with an inquiry as to the performance of the 100-400MkII combined with the Canon Extender 1.4MkIII on the EOS 90D.

This Australian Glossy Black Cockatoo's plumage glows with an iridescent blue hue when shot at a particular angle.

She needs a 2 room suite.

This is our first try at building an owl nesting box. Covid boredom is quite a thing at my house.

The instructions are quite specific about the size of the box and the hole cut based on the species of owl.

I am also having fantastic success with the 1.4 III on my 80D.
