Here's a recent news story (I'm in it!):

Very cool. I hope to get there for a visit, but for now I'll keep enjoying the photos that you post.

Well if you do, I wouldn't go with any expectations as they tend to move around a lot, especially as the feeding program tapers down, so do have some other photo places in the valley to checkout!

I like your close up shots but I also really like the perspective that this one gives with the cliff in the background.

Thank you!

There are not that many opportunities for "environmental" types of shots with them in the area I generally go to as there's simply a lot of distractions (shrubs, trees, etc).

Luckily their behavior is starting to go back to "normal" like last year where they'd cross in this general area, thus making for better backround opportunities.

Nice captures. Have a friend with the 90. Hes getting some impressive captures!

Thanks for your your comment. The 90D has great DR but I think the venerable 7DII still has the better tracking system. I am hoping for an R7 to come out this year.

Forgot my 80D and 1.4x III at home so I had to make do with the R and the 2X III! AF was fine at f/11 for swimming birds. Birds in flight at f/11 are another story, at least at my experience level.

Well... not really because it's cheating!! I just wait for the kayakers to come down the river, and then have the camera ready to go when they take off!

Still the 90d is baffling when it comes to focus decisions..so I think it's R5 or bust!

I use single point focus with my 89D/70D with wildlife and airplanes. I have fewer out of focus shots.

I purchase an R5 2 weeks ago and haven't really taken in out for test yet due to work and laziness.
