OK, I love this effect! I saw something similar recently with a guy jumping into a pool. I don't know how it's done, please could you share the method you used to make the composite? Thanks!

Can't speak for WebDevGuy, but my workflow involves LR & PS. I select the shots in LR and choose Edit as Layers in Photoshop. Once in Photoshop, I select all the Layer Panel, then auto-align (image stacking option) and auto-blend. It can get more involved if anything other than the subject (in this case the owl) is in motion, e.g., the grass. In this case you would not to want to stack the part of the images that contains the grass, as that would result in a weird looking mess.

Fantastic, thanks. I only have PS Elements so am not sure if this is possible there, but I'm going to experiment over the weekend :-)

Basically what akadmon said. But in this case I used auto-align for only 4 of the layers, then blended it by hand using layer masks. The reason was the I was panning and the background wasn't in the same position. :)

Once I have merged everything I merge all visible layers into 1 new layer and that is the master composite. I can then enhance it, as I would with any other pic. Hope this helps!

Thanks. A bit of post sharpening but being shot with the 1.4 canon extender, I'd say I'm happy with them :-)

Hello, just two more questions; this week I ma going to buy my 100-400 IS II and, my question is, owing a 55-250 had I better hang on to it or can I get rid of it and save some money on the price of the 100-400.
The only reason I can think of is its weight, but then I think that having a 100-400 I wouldn't use it any longer often.
What's your opinion?

Second, I bought 2 weeks ago an extender Kelko 1.4 DGX, will it work with the 100-400?
With my macro 100mm L it works fine.

Thank you,
Fabrizio
