Yes, quite so. It enables one to take photos that one could not get with the 100-400 IS version 1. I find myself shooting handheld much more often than I would ever have dared to do with the old lens. "Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.

John_T Goldmember More info | Jun 10, 2015 00:51 | #1271 I got quite a lot of shots of wild Curlews above Cairns a few years ago. Love their big eyes. Love their big eyes. As long as I didn't make any sudden movements, they were curious and played hide and seek in and out of the undergrowth. They can be as stupid as plovers some times. There's a few nest every year in the grass border of the car park at The Prince Charles Hospital in Brizzy. They seem to think that if they stand perfectly still, they can't be seen/harmed. You can almost reach out and touch them before they move off. Their camouflage works over wood chip but not over grass See my fishy photography here: https://kevindickinsonfineartphot.smugmug.com/Tropical-Fish-2/

Canonised Goldmember More info | Jun 10, 2015 10:14 | #1275 I recently acquired the 7D2 to match the 100-400mk2 and the combination is a revelation. It was so much easier with a higher rate of keepers than on the 5D3. Even my Nikon buddies who I shoot wildlife with were envious. The investment on the combination is well worth it.
