Nice series of shots of the horses. But there is something a bit odd about the colors in these shots...

Yes, I'm messing around with the Nic software. I think what's making it look odd is the "Glow"....Okay, just figured out that it's not the Glow but the Tonal Contrast set to High Pass (Nic Color Efex)

Hi, I bought a Canon 100-400 II IS this week and own a Kelko 1.4 Pro DGX; they work together perfectly, but I have just received an email by Amazon about an offre of the Kelko 2.0. Now I ma wondering whether it's worth my money to get also that, which it means whether or not it works with the 100-400.
I'd also use it with a macro 100mm L IS.
Thank you for replying.
Fabrizio

Hi Fabrazio,
Personally I would recommend against paying out for a 2X TCon.
Mileage will vary, but in general they are a poor investment and tend to only be useful on Primes of F/4 or faster.

Didn't even have to leave my chair under the pergola for this one. This lens is worth every cent!

Ok, thank you.
The 1.4x works great both with the macro 100 mm L and the 100-400 IS II.

how about a:
- 5DSR at 6400 ISO
- handheld at 1/320, F5.6, 400mm
- SOOC jpg (no adjustments)
- this is an uncropped, sooc image

in LR, the 1:1 has crazy detail
- you could do lots in RAW to make this much better

A truly massive crop to show detail

Hockey and wedding photographer. Favourite camera / lens combos: a 1DX II with a Tamron 45 1.8 VC, an A7Rii with a Canon 24-70F2.8L II, and a 5DSR with a Tamron 85 1.8 VC. Every lens I own I strongly recommend [Canon (35Lii, 100L Macro, 24-70F2.8ii, 70-200F2.8ii, 100-400Lii), Tamron (45 1.8, 85 1.8), Sigma 24-105]. If there are better lenses out there let me know because I haven't found them.

Just for laughs I tried to match your settings at iso6400 and I put the hummer feeder in the shade. unfortunately I had to shoot through two branches so for comparison

7DII ,..100-400L II hand held same lightroom setting at 0 ,..now I shrunk the jpeg to around 550k with lightroom ,..now i am twice as fast at 1/640 so ??

Hi Kev, have you tried the 100-400 on your fish?

Cheers, Damien
