Processing Canon Raw Image Data to Maximize Dynamic Range

This is a comment on the article rather than the technique. I think the author would have done better to use a less extreme example image. While his technique does greatly improve the image there is only so much that can be done. By using such an extreme example image the end result is still a poor image that I wouldn't want to keep. I realise this is mainly psychological but you go through the article and get to the end and the result is disappointing. Yes, it is vastly improved but not enough to be worth keeping the image (unless you have a specific need to save that image, such as it being the last photo of your aunt taken before she died).

If the author had used a slightly less extreme example it would have gone from bad to great instead of awful to bad.
