Was on my way back home this afternoon, and spotted a nice herd of elk in my neighbors alfalfa field. Another lightless day here in North Idaho but I couldn't resist taking a couple of pics using my old Rebel and a crappy lense that a keep as an old truck camera. The bulls stayed to far off for a pic. Lots of elk in this valley anymore, as the wolves have moved a lot of them out of the mountains and they have decided to stay year round as it is a lot safer for them.:-)

Thanks Blackchrome. I do very much understand your addiction on chasing these wild elk. It can be a challenge for sure.:-)

Good shot Terry, you must have got fairly close . They do look to be in good shape , very thick looking.I would very much like to shoot some elk sometime, they are fascinating to me.

Thanks Steve. Yes I was fairly close, but it was also getting pretty dark. I wasn't sure I would even get a half decent pic. Hopefully you will be able to get on some elk pics some day. The Black Hills is a good place to be during the rut for photo opps of them I don't know if there are any closer to your area or not.:-)
