I'm using a KNO Diva with diffusion and a piece of foam core to take photos from a 5dm3, and I want to make sure I freeze motion during the photos.

My camera was set to f5.6 with an ISO1000 in AV mode and my shutter is only 1/125 does that mean I might need more light? I could raise the ISO, though just wondering if this means I should consider replacing the foam core with another KNO Diva?

Thanks.

That looks like a continuous light source to me? I've never seen anyone try and freeze movement with a continuous light source (other than the sun, or some very bright stadium lighting).

Either get your shutter speed north of 1/640th (or higher, depending on what you're trying to freeze.. I'm assuming a moving human) or use speedlites, or studio strobes with a fast enough t.1 flash duration.

First three Canon 5Ds. Some lights (some really fancy ones too). Some glass (maybe a few too many but who's keeping track?). Some cool stamps on my passport.

You would need a LOT more light of the same type to get significantly faster shutter speeds.

A much better solution would be to invest in some flash-based lighting. The short duration of the flash will generally stop action by itself much better than using even a very fast shutter speed.
