A good protective "storage" case / bag?

So I have most of camera gear stuffed into a cheap Amazon DSLR backpack. Then I take gear out as I need it and put it into a smaller Crumpler bag when I go out. I've liked having as much stuff as possible consolidated into one bag for storage. One of my neighbors had their unit catch fire last year. I had to evacuate basically in a minute, so I realized I'd like to have most of my camera gear in one bag for a quick "escape" if a need like that arises again. Plus it helps organization (I know where everything is).

I'd like to ideally have a case big enough to fit all my gear, which I'll list below. Something that CAN be carried around, but it'll mainly be for storage, so I'd like something that's pretty strong and can be protected if say something drops on the bag or I drop it.

In case my sig doesn't list all my gear, he's what I'd like to fit: 6D, SL1, 18-55 STM, 55-250, 24-70 f/2.8 ii, 50 1.8, 85 1.8, 24mm STM, Fuji X100s, 430 ex ii. And then maybe some extra space for another lens or two that I might pick up in the future.

I am going to be a little annoying and suggest that, first and foremost, you invest in all-risk insurance for your gear. You do not want to worry about gear when there is a fire. You want to worry about the safety of your loved ones and yourselves. It really also helps give you peace of mind when out shooting: you will not chicken out of using the camera because you are afraid of getting it wet or having it snatched etc.

As for storage, well, a large enough Pelican case is the obvious solution, and would fulfill the need for a simple bug-out bag and/or protection from knocks etc. But I think you are overlooking a much more insidious threat, and one that many insurance policies will not cover: fungus. Some reuseable dessicant packs tossed into the Pelican case should do the trick, or you might get a specialized dry cabinet with humidity controls.

Ended up getting a Pelican 1510 during Amazon's sale. Definitely overkill for my purposes, but at the same time the price wasn't too much more than a decent camera bag, so I guess not too bad.

For fear of divorce if I brought home yet another camera bag, I've converted a desk legal size file drawer to store bodies, lenses. I have two Canon DSLRs and 7 lenses (room for one more - yikes!) packed in Pelican pluck foam. Works out well, everything is super convenient.

The Pelican Cases are excellent for protection. I love mine and it works well for a step stool in a pinch :)
