This was taken on our property as we just left the house. Saw something a looooong ways out in our field and thought it was a deer, (which was a rarity where we lived). Brought the 500mm up, took a couple shots and this was the best. Big difference in size in Northern Ontario compared to down here in Muskoka area for sure.
We actaully had the opportunity to see 6 different individuals and considered ourselves VERY lucky as they are so secretive in this area.

I would love to see a wild wolf one day.

Did this one smell, see or hear you? Looks like it is following you carefully.

Thank you all for the likes, and views.
This one def knew I was there, as I was in a vehicle. This would be approx 120+ lbs, and yes, very well fed, by the looks of this sides.
Right now at our new place, we have quite a few. Sitting at kitchen table the other morning, one let out a howl right behind house. Went out and a pair were only 30 ft away. Fresh tracks every day in the snow. Trail cam time.

Nice capture of an illusive in the wild wolf. We have them in our neighborhood also. I get to hear them and see tracks, but have yet to see one much less get a pic. Keep that camera handy.:-)

Thanks to all for the views, and comments. We are truly humbly blessed to be surrounded with the wilds of Central Ontario where we live.

CyberDyneSystems: This pic was from Northern Ontario near Kirkland Lake, where we used to live. We do live in Muskoka now, northeast of Rosseau Ontario. We are surrounded by thousands of acres of bush/lakes with our nearest neighbours being 4.5 km south, and over a km west of us. Nothing for at least 10-15 km the other two points of the compass. We do not have any hydro on our road, thus we do live totally off-grid. Love it!

Great shot! These get a really bad wrap where I live, and are not popular in our state. But none the less what a beautiful animal.

Thanks, and yes bad rap it seems everywhere. All wild predators kill to survive only. Yet mankind is the worst ,as it is the only animal that kills just for pure sport. :-(
