Hello All,

I am starting this thread to discuss the most compact options of lenses for the A7 bodies. I'm sure many of you are in a similar boat where you bought the A7 to be the ultimate take-with-you-everywhere camera. I am trying to figure out the best options for small lenses. If you have/have used any super compact lenses please post a review of your thoughts and also the overall length would help too! Here are some of the most compact lenses I have found. Seems that leica mount is going to be best for the most compact. To keep the thread on track let's say that we are looking at lenses smaller than the FE 35mm f2.8

Voigtlander Nokton 40mm f1.4 Leica Mount
Voigtlander Nokton 35mm f1.4 Leica Mount
Leica Summicron-C 40mmf2
Minolta M Rokkor 40mm f2 Leica Mount

The idea is the lens has to be small enough that you could fit your camera in your coat pocket.

if you want very compact M lenses on the A7, look into the MS Optical Perar lenses from Miyazaki-san in Japan.
He's made a 24mm, 28mm and 35mm lens

Sweet find! I don't think it get's much smaller than that, pretty slow glass but no doubt the ultimate in compact lenses!

There are a few really cool old collapsible Leica M39 mount lenses which are super tiny. I just got a Leica rangefinder with one attached and when collapsed it's pretty much thimble sized. I only have one shot with it and I was free lensing, but IQ seems surprisingly good.

I'll post the pic from it when I get home (or you can browse my Flickr, it's one of the first images). The lens is a Leitz 50mm f3.5.

It is pretty good on A7, color is rich. Hopeless on A7R.

Here's a shot of my a7R with the Leica 50/3.5 on it

The lens collapses, but I'm obviously nervous about doing that, so I'm not going to ;)

Meyer Goerlitz 30 mm. Lydith and 50 mm. Trioplan.
Small, light, cheap and excellent (not as the Leica-r or Zeiss Contax I prefer to use, but not so far from them).
All the best,
Sandro
